“COMMUNICATING SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERIES AND CONCEPTS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC MAKES SCIENCE MORE RELEVANT AND IMPACTFUL”
We are pleased to announce Women in Neuroscience (WiN), Nigeria as one of the newest partners of the International Year of Science Engagement (IYSE).
Women in Neuroscience empowers women and girls to optimise their careers in neuroscience and STEM to overcome gender inequalities. They accomplish this through various means such as increasing networking opportunities for women in neuroscience, running the Neuroscience Journal Club, organising lectures and workshops, teaching women about work-life balance, hosting seminars on women’s health, conducting the NEURO4GIRLS outreach program, discussing the challenges women face in advancing in science, and building capacity in STEM fields through outreach and public engagement.
“Science engagement as an avenue of communicating scientific discoveries and concepts to the general public makes science more relevant and impactful to humanity”, says Chinna Orish, founder of the initiative.
We would like to especially thank Chinna Orish for her effort in driving this collaboration forward. While you wait on updates from our side, feel free to refer to the WiN website for their brilliant work.
